Two months have passed since my surgery, my knee is looking and feeling really good. My doctor and physio are super stoked on my progress and how far ahead of schedule I am. 2010 is going to be a good year and can't wait till I'm back on snow.
Fingers crossed 2009 goes out with a bang.(pun intended).
Happy New Year.
Here's a video I've been meaning to put up for a while now, from One Hit Wonder event that i was invited to.

Operation
So after an awesome last week of school, stuffing around, mucking up and going out, Monday the 19th finally arrived. Got to the hospital and got prepared for surgery, met the nurses and was happy one was fairly good looking, which helped me take my mind off surgery. The surgery was over within 1 and a half hours and doc said everything went really well. The LARS ligament is in and recovery has started.

Booked In
Booked In for the 19th of October to get my ACL reconstruction and get the LARS (artificial ligament). Which means I can start rehab really soon and get back on snow this summer in America.

News and Bad news
OK, so it been a really long time since my last post, I'v been busy with comps, school and doctors.
Since the last post I competed in STYLEWARS which was epic, I rode really well in the rail jam on the 28 stair, bad weather postponed the session on the jump until the last day on the 80ft booter.
Got invited to the "One Hit Wonder" (Down Under) comp at Thredboe and had a awesome time. The jump was sweet and around 70ft. Unfortunately due to a prior injury I took things easier than I would have liked, never the less it was still a great experience.
So about a month prior to these events I injured my knee riding out of a jump, got caught up in the slush and fell hard and awkwardly, I though I just tweaked my knee and the physio said its just a hyper-extension and recommended I took a few days off to let it mellow out. Followed doc's orders and got back on snow asap. My knee was sore but only when I hyper-extended it, nothing some tape wouldn't fix to stop extension. Anyway last Tuesday I get an MRI with the results I'v been dreading I have severed my ALC and need surgery. Fingers crossed I get this new technology called the LARS ligament (artificial) which only takes 3 months to recover and make it back to America, but will have to work my ass off to get tha cash.
Trying to keep this in mind "A set back is a set up for a comeback"
Peace

STYLEWARS
I have recently been invited to compete in STYLEWARS. When I heard the news I was soooo stoked. I remember back in 2007 watching Torstein on TV hitting the 120ft jump and thinking to myself "HOLY SHIT" this comp is insane and hoping one day I would be able to compete in it.
From the insane setups they have to the calibre of riders this comp is going to be epic and I'm so happy to be part of it.
I'm putting out for a good result.

BAW BAW
Ok, so the season is well and truly underway, with comps happening left right and center.
This weekend happened to be the Forum rail jam at Mt Baw Baw, for my first time at Baw Baw I was extremely impressed with what they had to offer. I competed in the under 18's and managed to score first place. Over all it was a good weekend.

Early start
Headed up to Mt Buller early this morning with Miles to a amazing sunny and hot day. Cut a few laps with the boys on the Holden Express we travelled over to a corrugated pipe where some fun times and fresh tricks were pulled out of the bag, it didn't seam to matter that is was the first day riding for most. Cant wait it for the season to start. Photos by Shaun Belmore
